As a fast-paced, customer-oriented CRO, Quality Chemical Laboratories performs a wide variety of analyses for clients in raw materials, finished products, manufacturing and formulations development. To satisfy our customers’ needs, the training department at Quality Chemical Laboratories oversees training for employees in over fifty laboratory techniques. With assistance from management, the training department develops a unique training program for each individual, based upon his or her job description and previous experience. Our goal is to foster an environment in which questions are freely asked and answered.
QCL laboratory training begins immediately after the on-boarding process. New employees are introduced to general laboratory techniques, solution preparation, pH measurement, and GMP documentation practices in QCL’s training laboratory, which is dedicated solely to training laboratory employees. As analysts gain experience, they are slowly integrated into their assigned laboratory. Training in more advanced techniques may occur in the training lab, or in another laboratory, depending upon the technique.
Most facets of QCL training have recently been migrated into QCL’s LIMS system. Training materials are stored within the LIMS, and assessments are graded and documented in the LIMS. QCL assesses laboratory technique through specific training projects, which are created and processed by the training department. These changes have improved QCL’s training processes to make training materials easier to access. Furthermore, test grading and compliance reports have improved the efficiency of the assessment process. In the future, QCL will continue to improve training with the aim of making it more user accessible and multi-media focused. Webinars, podcasts and video-based training are options to address a variety of training topics and can be utilized as part of an overall training module
